Santo Domingo.- The National Conservatory of Music (CNM) marked its 83rd anniversary with a sold-out symphonic gala at the Máximo Avilés Blonde Hall in the Palace of Fine Arts. The event featured the Juan Pablo Duarte Symphony Orchestra, led by Maestro José Luis Ureña, and the Conservatory Choir, under Edwin Disla, with guest conductor Alba Virginia Pérez. The concert included the premiere of original compositions by CNM students, showcasing emerging talent.
The concert offered a rich musical program, including works by young composers and classics like Mozart’s Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, and the Dominican bolero “Mi Quisqueya” by Bienvenido Bustamante. The event demonstrated the high artistic level of the Juan Pablo Duarte Symphony Orchestra and the Conservatory Choir. CNM continues to serve as a pillar of musical education in the Dominican Republic.
