Vice President Raquel Peña expresses presidential ambitions

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic Vice President Raquel Peña revealed her aspiration to become President, stating that she dreams of climbing the steps of the National Palace in that role.

Peña made the remarks during the “Manuel Arsenio Ureña Business Breakfast Conference,” organized by the Santiago Apóstol Archdiocesan Foundation (FASA). Speaking on “Women Leaders Driving Sustainable Economies,” she shared that she had never initially envisioned holding leadership roles, including her past position as Vice-Rector of Administration and Finance at the Pontifical Catholic Mother and Teacher University (PUCMM).

Reflecting on her political journey, Peña admitted she had not foreseen becoming Vice President but now acknowledges her presidential ambitions when asked repeatedly about them.
