Multi-vehicle accident on Duarte Highway causes injuries and traffic disruptions

Monseñor Nouel.- A major accident involving a flatbed truck, two trucks, and a bus occurred on the Duarte Highway in the Loma Miranda sector, Bonao, leaving at least one person injured. The National Emergency and Security System 9-1-1 coordinated the response alongside various relief units.

According to reports, the crash caused a truck to overturn, leading to severe traffic congestion and fuel spills. The General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (Digesett) is working to clear the roadway. Emergency teams, including the National Police, firefighters, and the Ministry of Public Works, assisted in the response, ensuring traffic returned to normal after removing the vehicles.

Authorities emphasized the importance of yielding to emergency vehicles to allow for swift response in such incidents. Firefighters continue efforts to clean up the fuel spill to prevent further hazards.
