Santiago Monorail to be completed by December 2025

Santiago de los Caballeros.- During a meeting between the Trust for the Development of the Mass Transportation System (FITRAM) and the Mayor’s Office of Santiago, FITRAM’s executive director, Jhael Isa, announced that the construction of the Santiago Monorail is set to be completed by December 30, 2025. The 13-kilometer system will include 14 stations and is part of the broader Santiago Integrated Transportation System, which also features a cable car.

Isa detailed the project’s progress, emphasizing the commitment to meeting deadlines. She also confirmed that work on Las Carreras Street will conclude by March 30, with partial monorail operations beginning in April for staff training. Mayor Ulises Rodríguez highlighted the project’s transformative impact and commended the engineering team’s efforts.
