UASD secures land for University City in Dajabón

Dajabón.- The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) has taken a significant step toward expanding higher education in the border province of Dajabón by acquiring 30,000 square meters of land. The purchase, led by Rector Editrudis Beltrán Crisóstomo, was made possible through a donation of 50% of the land by Marta García and Celso René García Gómez, while the UASD acquired the remaining portion for 10 million pesos.

Beltrán Crisóstomo emphasized the historic nature of the acquisition, stating that the establishment of a University City in Dajabón is now a reality. He highlighted the government’s support under President Luis Abinader, citing the operation of the UASD Office in Dajabón and the planned transfer of the Ramón Matías Mella Provincial Hospital’s facilities once a new hospital is completed. He underscored the UASD’s commitment to the region’s educational, socioeconomic, and cultural development.
