Catholic Book Fair starts tomorrow

Santo Domingo.- The 32nd Catholic Book Fair begins this Saturday, March 22, at Casa San Pablo and will run until March 30, offering a diverse program focused on faith, reading, and community engagement. Under the theme “To love good reading is to love the truth,” the event will feature around 40 exhibitors showcasing books and crafts, as well as cultural and artistic activities. Event manager Juan José Guerrero highlighted the return of the Church History Competition, which will award seven to nine university scholarships to Catholic school students.

The fair will open with a program led by Metropolitan Archbishop of Santo Domingo, Monsignor Francisco Osoria Acosta, followed by a concert featuring internationally renowned artist John Carlos. The Monsignor Amancio Escapa Auditorium will host key activities, including discussions, talks, and performances. Families and visitors will also enjoy a range of attractions, such as craft sales and entertainment for children, including inflatable games and slides.

On March 30, the fair will present the play “Rewriting My Story” by Eudy Cordero, focusing on faith and family values. Other featured guests include Henry Valenzuela, Militants of the Lord, John Wayne, speaker Pacho Bermeo, Salvador Gómez, and Saúl Hidalgo. On March 28, the Church History Contest will take place, granting scholarships to winners for university studies, supported by local institutions as part of a broader social contribution initiative.
