Tires burned, arrests made during SFM strike

San Francisco de Macorís.- Protesters in the Pueblo Nuevo sector have joined the 48-hour strike in San Francisco de Macorís, burning tires on the first day of demonstrations. Police and military forces quickly intervened, extinguishing the flames and clearing debris left by unidentified individuals.

During the operation, several young people were arrested and taken into custody. Since early morning, heavy security patrols have been deployed across the municipality, both on the ground and by air, as authorities monitor the protest organized by the Broad Front of Popular Struggle (FALPO).
