Dominican mountaineer Thais Herrera, the first Dominican woman to summit Mount Everest, has canceled her planned expedition to the North Pole due to the inoperability of the Barneo air base in the Arctic Ocean.
Herrera expressed disappointment over the setback but emphasized that “everything has its time,” remaining optimistic about achieving this milestone in the future. Originally set to begin the journey in two weeks, she assured that her commitment to high-level mountaineering remains strong.
Despite this obstacle, Herrera continues her training and preparation for future challenges. “The best is yet to come,” she stated, thanking supporters for their encouragement as she pursues new exploration goals.
