Santo Domingo.- Vice Admiral José Manuel Cabrera Ulloa, president of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), met with top officials from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Puerto Rico, along with prosecutors and security agency representatives. The meeting, held at DNCD headquarters, focused on reinforcing joint strategies to combat drug trafficking, money laundering, and transnational organized crime in the Caribbean region.

This collaboration is part of the Dominican Republic’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with international allies, enhancing its operational capacity against drug-related crimes. Attendees included DEA Caribbean Division head Michael Miranda, U.S. Attorney for Puerto Rico Stephen Muldrow, and senior officials from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the FBI, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the U.S. Coast Guard. Notably, the meeting marked the first visit to the DNCD by Courtney Liggins, director of the Southeast/Caribbean Regional Intelligence Center.

Vice Admiral Cabrera Ulloa, alongside DNCD officials, reaffirmed the commitment to intensify joint efforts with U.S. agencies, aiming to dismantle criminal networks operating in the region.
