Santo Domingo.- The General Directorate of Penitentiary and Correctional Services (DGSPC) has launched a search operation for Yovann Francisco Cuevas and Bryan Manuel Heredia Liriano, who escaped from the Najayo Men’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) in San Cristóbal on Thursday.
The inmates broke through a wall after gagging three cellmates in the reflection area, where they were under disciplinary measures. Two other escapees, Rubén Mendi (Runell Méndez) and Dionaris de León Torres, were also involved—Méndez was recaptured, while De León Torres was killed in a confrontation with authorities.
Security forces, including the National Police and the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Dicrim), are actively searching for the fugitives. Authorities remain on high alert as efforts continue to locate and apprehend them.
