Three-year-old boy reported missing in Jarabacoa

Jarabacoa.- A massive search effort is underway for three-year-old Roldanis Calderón, who went missing on Sunday in Manabao, near José Armando Bermúdez National Park in Jarabacoa. His disappearance has mobilized authorities, volunteers, and his parents, Carolina Vargas Ureña and Efraín Nicolás Calderón.

According to reports, the child was last seen playing in the yard with a soda bottle and a bucket of water between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. His father, Nicolás Calderón, said he left him momentarily with two girls while bringing him juice, but upon returning just five minutes later, the boy had vanished.

Pablo Pimentel, superintendent of the Buena Vista Fire Department, stated that the family, originally from Hato Viejo, was visiting the area near the last inhabited house in El Arraiján. The alert was issued at 5:20 p.m., and around 50 volunteers began searching the nearby forests, farms, and river, but no trace of the child has been found. Authorities continue their efforts and urge the public to provide any relevant information.
