Vice President Raquel Peña attends SEMIEXPO Heartland

Indianapolis.- Vice President Raquel Peña traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, to participate in SEMIEXPO Heartland 2025 on April 1-2. The event focuses on smart manufacturing and mobility within the semiconductor industry. Her visit aims to strengthen the Dominican Republic’s role in the global semiconductor sector, following President Luis Abinader’s earlier discussions at Purdue University in March.

Peña’s agenda includes meetings with semiconductor manufacturers, researchers, and industry leaders to explore investment and workforce development opportunities. She will also meet with Purdue University representatives to reinforce institutional collaboration in semiconductor research.

This initiative aligns with Decree No. 324-24, which designates semiconductor industry development as a national priority under the National Strategy for the Promotion of the Semiconductor Industry (Enfis). SEMIEXPO Heartland serves as a strategic platform for positioning the Dominican Republic as a competitive and secure destination for semiconductor investment.
