Doral and La Romana explore potential collaboration

Doral, Fl.- Doral Mayor Christi Fraga welcomed La Romana Mayor Eduardo Kery Métivier to discuss a future partnership aimed at enhancing mutual development in areas such as tourism, education, investment, and citizen security. The meeting, coordinated by Dr. Vicente Rodríguez, a prominent Dominican-Cuban physician, is a preliminary step toward signing a one-year agreement between the two municipalities.

Mayor Fraga expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating that the initial engagement would serve as a foundation for a more formal Sister Cities agreement, pending successful outcomes after one year. She highlighted the potential benefits for both cities, which are known for their thriving tourism and business sectors.

Mayor Kery Métivier praised the initiative and expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He noted that the partnership would bring valuable opportunities to both cities, with Doral’s urban planning and development serving as an inspiration for improvements in La Romana. Kery Métivier also discussed his broader efforts to internationalize La Romana, particularly in its commercial relations with the United States.
