Death toll rises to 18 in Jet Set tragedy

Santo Domingo.- The death toll from the Jet Set nightclub roof collapse has risen to 18, according to Juan Manuel Méndez, director of the Emergency Operations Center (COE). Méndez confirmed the updated number during a press conference on Tuesday at the disaster site, where rescue efforts continue. The exact number of people still trapped under the rubble remains unclear.

Search and rescue operations are being led by COE teams, Civil Defense, the Fire Department, the Red Cross, and Armed Forces personnel.
