16 fishermen rescued after emergency at Sea

Río San Juan.- Authorities have confirmed the successful rescue of 16 fishermen from a 17-member crew that departed from the Río San Juan dock for commercial fishing. The information was shared by Franklin Taveras Difo, provincial director of Civil Defense.

Rescue efforts were launched after an emergency involving the Hilda-I vessel, with four boats dispatched from the municipality to aid in the operation. While most of the crew was found alive, one fisherman, Pedro Eugenio Jorge González, remains missing.

Personnel from Civil Defense, the 911 Emergency System, and the Dominican Navy are continuing search efforts to locate the missing fisherman.
