President extends national mourning

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader has extended the national mourning period for an additional three days following the tragic collapse at the Jet Set nightclub in the National District. The extension was made official through Decree 195-25.

According to Article 1 of the decree, the mourning period originally declared by Decree 194-25 on April 8, 2025, will now continue through April 11, 12, and 13.

Article 2 further mandates that the Dominican national flag be flown at half-mast at military facilities and public buildings across the country during these days, as a sign of respect and solidarity with the victims and their families.
