Another injured woman from Jet Set center tragedy dies

Santo Domingo — Another of those injured in the collapse of the Jet Set discotheque died last night at the Hospital Traumatológico Darío Contreras of a cardiorespiratory arrest, raising the death toll to 222. The National Health Service did not identify the woman and only said in a note that she was 35. She is the second victim of the collapse to die in a medical center. On Thursday, a woman died at the Plaza de la Salud.

The state entity expressed that she had a reserved prognosis due to cranioencephalic, vertebromedullary, and complete cervicolumbar traumas, besides multiple fractures.

It was further explained that she was taken to the surgery room where she was operated on the forehead wound and had an unstable hemodynamic condition, with other complications.

The center’s director, Cesar Roque, informed us that in the morning, she presented an event for which she was intubated and connected to mechanical ventilation.

“She died at 8:00 p.m. after the arrest, without response to any resuscitation maneuver,” he said.

The SNS expressed its condolences to the family members and those of all those who have lost a loved one due to the unfortunate event.
