Bridge collapses in La Vega

La Vega – A speed bump bridge connecting several communities in the Bayacanes sector in La Vega collapsed on Friday, April 11, due to the intense rains that have affected the province.

At 10:15 p.m., the National Police, headed by Colonel Roberto Paniagua Ramírez, Commander of Operational Department I, appeared at the scene with members under his command to guarantee order, provide support, and supervise the situation together with community members from the area.

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, the senior officer returned to the affected area to continue monitoring the damage, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to the safety and well-being of citizens.

No human losses or unfortunate situations have been reported so far. The National Police continue to patrol and monitor the area as part of its preventive work and in coordination with other competent authorities.
