Arajet launches U.S. route

Santo Domingo.- Dominican airline Arajet has officially entered the U.S. market with the launch of its Santo Domingo–Miami route, marking a milestone in the country’s aviation history. The inaugural flight, operated with a Boeing 737 MAX 8, departed last Friday and was celebrated both in the Dominican Republic and Miami, where it was greeted with a ceremonial water salute. Initially operating four times per week, the route will become a daily service starting June 13.

This new connection reinforces Arajet’s hub strategy in Santo Domingo, enabling seamless travel between North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean. Passengers can now connect from Miami to destinations such as Bogotá, Cancún, Aruba, and Mexico City via Santo Domingo. The airline, which has served over two million passengers in just 30 months, aims to offer affordable and efficient travel options while boosting tourism and economic ties between the U.S. and the Dominican Republic.

Arajet’s expansion continues with new U.S. routes set to launch in June, including flights from Punta Cana to Miami, and from Santo Domingo and Punta Cana to San Juan and Newark. These routes are designed to serve the Dominican diaspora, especially in Florida, New York, New Jersey, and New England. The airline now operates 28 routes to 21 international destinations, solidifying its position as a regional leader in low-cost air travel.
