Holy Week travel surge at Las Américas Airport

Holy Week travel surge at Las Américas Airport

Santo Domingo.- Passenger traffic at Las Américas International Airport (AILA) is seeing a major boost during Holy Week, with around 120,000 travelers expected to pass through the terminal. The increase includes both local and international tourists vacationing in the Dominican Republic.

To manage the surge, 354 flights are scheduled throughout the week. Aerodom, which operates the airport, has enhanced customer service and long-term parking options, especially for families traveling abroad who choose to leave their vehicles at the airport.

Security has also been reinforced with private personnel and National Police presence, while parking areas have been cleaned and reorganized to handle the higher volume. Additionally, demand for rental cars and taxis is rising in response to the busy holiday travel period.
