Labor Ministry confirms Labor Day holiday moved to May 5

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Labor has reminded businesses and workers in the Dominican Republic that Labor Day, traditionally observed on Thursday, May 1, will instead be celebrated on Monday, May 5, in line with Law 139-97 governing public holidays.

Both the public and private sectors are expected to resume normal activities on Tuesday, May 6. The Ministry emphasized that the observance of this holiday must be respected by all establishments nationwide.
