San Pedro, San Francisco head to Dominican Baseball series

Santo Domingo.- The Estrellas of San Pedro will go against San Francisco’s Gigantes in the Dominican Winter Baseball Series, helped by Robinson Cano’s 4for-4 outing Thursday night.

San Pedro clinched the win with Michael Martinez’s inside-the-park grand slam to lead his adoptive team 10 to 4 over the Gigantes, with their second appearance in the last five championships.

Cano once again showcased his batting skills blasting a triple, double and two singles in the 14-hit onslaught to advance to the best-of-9 championship which starts Saturday in San Pedro.

The teams ended the season tied for first, both with a 10-6 record.
