Miami, Florida.- Tourism Minister David Collado and former Major League Baseball star and entrepreneur Alex Rodríguez announced a groundbreaking investment of over US$1 billion in a new luxury tourism project at Playa Grande, in María Trinidad Sánchez province. The initiative marks the beginning of an ultra-luxury development phase, featuring new hotel and real estate accommodations.
Minister Collado highlighted the announcement as a clear signal of private sector confidence in the Dominican Republic’s economic and tourism environment. He noted the project’s potential to significantly boost high-end tourism, especially in the northern communities of Río San Juan and Cabrera.
Alex Rodríguez expressed pride in being part of such a transformative development. He emphasized the project’s potential to attract global elites through partnerships with Amanera and Discovery Land Company, reinforcing the country’s appeal as a luxury destination. Playa Grande, already known for its world-class Amanera hotel and golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, is set to become a premier destination for upscale travelers.
