Bavaro & Punta Cana May 25, 2025 - 1:00 pm

The fifth edition of the Punta Cana Grand Prix will be dedicated to Frank Rainieri.

The fifth edition of the Punta Cana Grand Prix cycling event will be dedicated to Frank Rainieri, the “father of tourism” in the eastern part of the country.

The announcement was made by the event’s general director, Mario de Jesús, who explained that the Punta Cana Grand Prix will bring together the country’s best cyclists and representatives from more than 15 countries in the area, who will take advantage of the event to enjoy the typical tourism offered by Punta Cana.

“Frank Rainieri, founder of the Puntacana Group, is considered the main promoter of tourism in the eastern part of the country, and the group he founded has made many contributions to the different activities in the region, which is why we are dedicating the fifth edition to him,” he said.

The event begins on Friday, June 6, at 7:00 a.m. with the Recreational and Women’s A and B categories, starting from the Blue Mall toward the El Coral highway, followed by the Master A, B, C, and Pre Master categories.

Once these are finished, the Elite and Under 23 categories will begin. All races start at the Blue Mall, and the distance depends on the category.

On Saturday, June 7, the races will start at the same time, 7:00 a.m., leaving from the Blue Mall and arriving at the Coral Toll #2 on the El Coral highway. The number of laps depends on the categories.
