Outage of biggest power plant to affect energy to east region

Santo Domingo.- The East region electricity distributor company (EdeEste) on Thursday said the electricity service will be affected when the power company AES Dominicana’s plant at Andres, Boca Chica goes off line for major maintenance until February 17.

It said the outage of the 319-megawatt plant –the country’s largest- will affect the electricity supply to customers in La Altagracia, San Pedro, El Seibo and Santo Domingo provinces.

EdeEste said it regrets any inconvenience in the supply of its service to customers, stemming the situation beyond their control to.
