Brazil.- President Luis Abinader arrived in Brazil Thursday evening to participate in the Brazil-Caribbean Summit, where he will engage in a series of high-level meetings. His agenda includes a bilateral meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, as well as discussions with the heads of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), and the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley.
The Dominican president’s official activities begin Friday morning at the Itamaraty Palace in Brasília, where he will join other Caribbean leaders for a plenary session of the summit. The event includes an open debate and the signing of a joint declaration. Around midday, he is scheduled to meet with Sergio Díaz-Granados, executive president of the CAF.
Later in the day, President Abinader will hold private meetings with IDB President Ilan Goldfajn and Barbados Prime Minister Mottley. A key bilateral discussion with President Lula will take place in the afternoon. He will also tour the headquarters of EMBRAPA, Brazil’s Agricultural Research Corporation, where he will be received by Vice President Clenio Nailto Pillon.
