Dominican Republic pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka surpasses one million visitors

Osaka, Japan.- Just two months after opening, the Dominican Republic’s pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai has drawn over one million visitors, becoming one of the most visited exhibits within the high-visibility Commons-B building, which hosts representatives from more than 160 countries.

In May alone, the Dominican pavilion attracted nearly 687,000 attendees, showcasing the country’s rising appeal through an immersive, multisensory experience. Highlighting the nation’s culture, tourism, history, and iconic products such as coffee, rum, cigars, amber, and larimar, the exhibit has welcomed a diverse audience—from school groups and tourists to diplomats and Japanese media. Among its high-profile visitors was Osaka Governor Hirofumi Yoshimura.

Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, themed “Designing the Future Society for Our Lives,” promotes global innovation and sustainability under the Society 5.0 framework. With more than 28 million visitors expected during the six-month event, the Dominican pavilion could exceed five million visits, offering an unprecedented opportunity to strengthen the country’s cultural influence, attract investment, and expand the international presence of Dominican products and services.
