Marileidy Paulino breaks record with 400m win at Paris Diamond League

Paris.- Dominican sprinter Marileidy Paulino claimed victory in the 400-meter dash at the 2025 “Meeting de Paris,” setting a new event record and her season’s best with a time of 48.81 seconds. She narrowly edged out Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Naser, who finished close behind at 48.85 seconds.

The Paris meet, the eighth stop of the 2025 Diamond League, serves as a crucial benchmark for athletes preparing for the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo. Paulino’s dominant performance not only solidifies her status as a top contender but also builds momentum following her standout showings in Miami and Philadelphia earlier this season.

With this win, Paulino further cements her place among the world’s elite in the 400 meters and strengthens her position as a favorite for the podium in Tokyo.
