Medina off to Costa Rica Summit with poverty in mind

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina on Wednesday said he’ll address poverty during the 3rd Summit of Heads of State and Government held today and tomorrow in Heredia, Costa Rica.

When a reporter yelled: "President, at least tell us the topic you’ll discuss at the summit," Medina responded "poverty,” as he boarded the plane.

The president arrived at San Isidro Airbase as scheduled at 7am, acomanied by Presidency chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo, the ministers of Administration, José Ramón Peralta, and of Finance, Simon Lizardo and Miguel Mejía, vice minister for Regional Integration.

33 presidents and heads of government t are expected to attend the Summit, to discuss how to reduce poverty, fight against corruption, human rights, immigration, economy, security and the environment.

Medina and his delegation are slated to return Thursday afternoon.
