Commonwealth Roundtable hosts farewell for British Envoy

Santo Domingo.- The Roundtableof Commonwealth Countries in the Dominican Republic hosted a farewell luncheon forUnited Kingdom ambassador Steven Fisher, held in Patagonia Grill restaurant inthe city.

Commonwealth Roundtablepresident Fernando Gonzalez Nicolas called Fisher an effective ambassador, notonly for promoting relations between the Dominican Republic and Great Britain,but also for his support to develop ties with the Commonwealth´s 53 countries.

Fisher thanked theRoundtable´s members for the farewell and stated satisfaction for his missionin the Dominican Republic.

Present in the event wereTrinidad Chamber of Commerce president Alvaro Sousa, Scotiabank vice president GeorgeTome, Bahamas consul Hernando Perez Montas and Canada consul Glen McDougall,among other diplomats and business leaders.
