Dominican government not phased by corruption

Santo Domingo.- PresidencyAdministrative minister Jose Ramon Peralta on Thursday said the cases ofgovernment corruption won´t mar the Administration´s image because the peopleknow that the government works "more and better to solve it."

He said while corruptionis an issue that concerns everyone, the Government is pleased to figure among thefew countries where " the perception of corruption has fallen, butunfortunately cases occur, which are small, although shocking."

"People hereknow that one million children are eating, who weren’t eating before inschools; that work is being done for the people. They now here that there´s apresident who sacrifices 24 hours a day, seven days a week to work for hispeople,” he said, and asked what are going to do, stay with the dark spots?"
