Navy arrests 24, seizes boat headed to Puerto Rico

Santo Domingo.- The DominicanNavy on Sunday said it arrested 24 people and seized a makeshift boat at Cabezade Toro, eastern La Altagracia province, from where they would travel to PuertoRico illegally.

It said the group, 23men and one woman was arrested and the 24-foot boat seized during a raid. It saidthe boat was immediately incinerated on site.

It said the travelerswere taken to Naval headquarters in Santo Domingo Este, for the purposes offinding trip organizers frustrated.
