US Embassy announces closures Friday to Monday

Santo Domingo.- TheConsular Section of the US Embassy in Santo Domingo will be closed next Friday fora global update of its data system, whereas its Visa Service Center (VAC) will alsobe closed on Friday the 9th and Sunday the 11th.

Both the ConsularSection and the VAC will be closed Monday, October 12 to mark ColumbusDay", which is a US holiday. Both will resume normal operations on Tuesday,October 13, the US Embassy said in a statement.

“The Consular Sectionwill be contacting all visa and residence applicants with appointments duringthose dates to be rescheduled in the coming days,” the embassy said, adding thatfor emergencies, instructions on how to request an urgent appointment can beobtained at its website: www.embajadausa.gov.do, or contact directly-dominicanrepublic@ustraveldocs.com
