Dajabón, DominicanRepublic.- Dajabon´s binational market remains totally shuttered the second consecutiveday on Friday, as Haiti merchants have joined the Dominicans in the protestagainst Port-au-Prince’s ban on the entry overland of 23 products fromDominican Republic.
Trucks of the powerfulFENATRADO union still block the street leading to the market´s entrance, the Customsand Immigration agencies, and the border fate.
Although the border gateisn’t closed, the few Haitians whove entered have their passport with visa, butthose who´ve managed to buy some products have had them seized by Haitian officialsupon returning to their country.
