Dominican airports heighten security after Paris attacks

Santo Domingo.- The AirportSecurity Corp (CESAC) and Civil Aviation on Wednesday announced heightenedsecurity in Las Americas International and other airports across the country, inthe heels of the terrorist attacks inParis, which left at least 129 dead.

CESAC director AracenisCastillo said agents were ordered to increase vigilance at terminal checkpointsand passenger and baggage checks before boarding aircraft.

CESAC officers and agentsin the Las Americas airport today intensified checks on passenger headed to theUnited States and Europe, which annoyed some travelers as agents persisted on thoroughlychecking each piece of luggage before allowed to board.
