Venezuelans defeat Dominicans in Baseball Premier 12

Chinese Taipei.– The Dominican Republic suffered its fourth straight loss, this time against Venezuela 8-6, to become, along with Puerto Rico, one of the disappointments of the Premier 12 Baseball tournament, which is being held in Chinese Taipei.

Dominicans (0-4) ran out of qualifying options in the top four in Group B to reach the quarter-final stage, while Puerto Rico (1-3) in Group A, would only advance if Cuba would have defeated Chinese Taipei in the final preliminary date.

A total of 12 nations are participating in the tournament. The teams are divided into two preliminary round groups of six teams. Cuba, Taiwan, the Netherlands, Canada, Puerto Rico and Italy are in Group A, while Japan, South Korea, the United States, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Mexico make up Group B.
