Dominican Republic becomes founding member of Solar Power initiative

Paris.- PresidentDanilo Medina made Dominican Republic a founding member of the Solar Power GenerationInternational Alliance, an initiative by India that seeks to ensure green,clean and sustainable energy production.

"United by acommon vision for the generation of clean and renewable energy available toall, we affirm our intention to form the International Alliance of solar powergeneration, as founding members, ensuring the promotion of green, clean andsustainable energy, and reap the benefits of the sun in our favor," readsthe statement issued in Paris.

The signatories,including Dominican Republic, affirm that they share the common aspiration to developconsensus and innovative efforts “to reduce financing costs and the cost of thetechnologies for the immediate generation of solar energy in all our countries.”
