CEMEX, TECHO provide cement floors for 100 poor homes

Santo Domingo.- Cementmaker CEMEX and NGO TECHO have built the first two pilot models of a projected 100homes to pour cement floors to benefit families living in poverty and invulnerable areas, positively impacting their health and wellbeing.

The project, carriedout under a sustainable model with the participation of communities, allowspoor families to improve their quality of life by reducing the cycle of povertyby accessing a projectable housing with cement foundations, with the ability toexpand in stages as the family has access to more resources.

"CEMEX’s socialinitiatives aim to make cities and communities more inclusive, safer, durable andsustainable. By carrying out together with TECHO, building a decent roof for familiesin low-income housing, we want to be responsible by contributing to the NationsUnited Sustainable Development objectives and reinforce our commitment to builda better future," said CEMEX Dominicana CEO Carlos Gonzalez.
