Dominican councilman to head colleague´s bid for US Congress

Northern Manhattan).-Today, Senator Adriano Espaillat announced that Council Member Ydanis Rodriguezwill be his campaign chairman. Council Member Rodriguez has worked closely withSenator Espaillat to help tenants, protect affordable housing and build abetter education system for over a decade.

"Council Member Rodriguez is a true partner and friend, who shares mypassion for helping all New Yorkers thrive in this city," said StateSenator Adriano Espaillat. "I am excited to continue our partnership as wework to share our vision for a more affordable city with residents of the 13thcongressional district."

"From fighting to make the state’s minimum wage a livable one, to leadingefforts for stronger tenant protections, Senator Espaillat has been a tirelessadvocate for working families. We need that type of leadership in Congress andI am proud to support his campaign as itschairman," said Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez.

The 13th congressional district stretches from Harlem to Inwood in upper Manhattanand covers part of the Bronx. Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez has served theupper Manhattan community for more than 20 years.
