Jailed judges rid Dominican Republic´s Judiciary of ´pus´

Santo Domingo.-Dominican Republic justice minister Francisco Dominguez called the ruling handeddown 2am Thursday to incarcerate a purge of the “pus” from the Judiciary.

After a marathon hearingNational District 2nd Criminal Chamber Appellate Court judge RamonHoracio Gonzalez sent suspended judge Awilda Reyes and former Judicial Council memberFrancisco Arias to three months pretrial detention, at Njayo prison.

Dominguez had previouslywarned that the "pus" should be purged from the Dominican judicialsystem and considers the cleanup urgent.
