Dominican airline announces flights to Cuba

Santo Domingo.- Dominicanairline Pawa has been allowed to fly toCuba, Dominican Civil Aviation Board (JAC) president Roger Jover announced Monday.

EFE reports that Pawa announcedflights to Havana starting late November, becoming the only local airline to plythe route, after having received official authorization to travel to thesocialist contry.

The local carrier currentlyflies passengers to Caribbean destinations such as Aruba, Curacao and St.Marteen.

Speaking after a massto mark International Civil Aviation Day, Jover said four other airlines willjoin the market starting January 5 with direct flights from various destinationto Punta Cana (east).
