Canada envoy says compatriots prefer Dominican North

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.- Canadian ambassador Steve Coté on Wednesday lauded thegrowth and strengthening dynamics of the country´s tourism, especially the ??PuertoPlata area, where the Canadian market ranks third in preference for the DominicanRepublic destination “which has it all.”

In a meeting with Tourismdeputy minister Julio Almonte Nina, the Canadian diplomat said the growth of hiscountry´s market is evident at destinations across the country´s north, includingLuperon, Maimon, Cofresi, Costambar, Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabaret and Rio SanJuan.

“The Dominican Republicis the third solid destination for Canadians. This is very important. They’regoing to Mexico and Cuba, and then to this country, and there´s no doubt ofthis increasing preference in this part of the Caribbean, an area of ??greatattractions, good people, good weather and with an efficient security fortourists every day,” the envoy said.
