Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic authorities on Wednesday ruled out racism in the death of a Haitian national found hanged in Santiago’s park Ercilia Pepin park, and seek two o his compatriots who were with him in a betting parlor the last night he was seen alive.
National Police spokesman in Santiago Damián Arias said the two unidentified suspects haven’t been seen near the crime scene since. He said thus far only motive stealing money from a winning bet, which some local media place at RD$6,000 (around US$130).
The body of the victim identified only as "Tulile" was found near a hospital dangling from a tree with his hands and feet bound.
The authorities have questioned six people as part of the investigation in the death of the Haitian who reportedly shined shoes for a living.
