Public Works announces new overpass, posts detours

Santo Domingo.- The Public Works Ministry on Monday announced the start of construction 10pm Wednesday of an overpass at the intersection of 27 de Febrero and Privada avenues, in western Santo Domingo.

It said the work will require detours with five alternate routes for motorists in the area near the structure, to be built by the contractors Odebrecht and Grupo Estrella.

It said traffic will be detoured through adjacent streets including Caonabo, Miguel Angel Monclús, Guacanagarix, Romulo Betancourt and Santa Rosa.

The overpass is the first of four planned for the 27 de Febrero, that include Caonabo St., Luperon Av., Plaza de la Bandera and Isabel Aguiar, where it links with the Southern Highway (6 de Noviembre).
