Interpol nabs Canadian fugitive in Dominican Republic

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.- Interpol’s Dominican branch on Sunday arrested a Canadian wanted on an international warrant in connection with fraud and money laundering.

Richard Dale Johnston, 56, was apprehended in the Mary Rose apartment hotel in Sosua Township, Puerto Plata province.

National Police agents assigned to the Central Interpol Bureau in Santo Domingo made the arrest, after a sweeping intelligence gathering investigation.

The foreigner is wanted on the charges filed in Saskatchewan Provincial Court, where if convicted, faces 14 years in prison.
