Santo Domingo.– President Danilo Medina and Foreign Minister Andres Navarro on Monday met with US Counselor Thomas Shannon and explained to him the objectives and scope of the National Plan to Regularize Foreigners.
The meeting took place at National Palace, where they discussed the management of Dominican migration policy, especially the Haitian immigration. Medina and Shannon also talked about other issues of bilateral interest.
Counselor Shannon pointed out that the Dominican Republic and Haiti are building the necessary structures to deepen dialogue and seek ways to resolve their bilateral issues. He said that as a friend and business partner of both countries, the United States has much interest in the success of the dialogue.
