DNCD agents seize 30 kilos of drugs in Santiago

Santiago, DR.– Antinarcotics (DNCD) agents seized 30.46 kilos of a substance, presumably cocaine or heroin, and detained three people involved in a drug trafficking network.

Acccording to Listin Diario, the dealers used the cover of being an exporter of high-quality furniture to the United States. During an operation over the weekend, the DNCD agents also seized two firearms, vehicles, and over RD$60,000 and US dollars in cash.

The DNCD reported that the modus operandi consisted of placing drugs in plastic tubes and hiding them inside the furniture for shipment to the United States from Dominican airports and ports.
