Miner Falcondo announces annual Sports Cup

Santo Domingo.- The miner Falconbridge Dominicana on Thursday announced the 2nd annual Falcondo Sports Cup with teams from 14 towns of Monseñor Noel and La Vega provinces, where its operations are based.

In the launch ceremony, Falcondo CEO David Soares said contributions to communities is the company’s main commitment, citing the more than RD$85.0 million invested in CSR projects in Monseñor Noel and La Vega in 2014, including agro, infrastructure, education, conservation of major river basins and sports.

"The Falcondo Sport Cup is a social project we in Falconbridge developed, which seeks to contribute to the integration of communities through sports and recreational activities. The Falcondo Cup is an activity that is part of the historic contribution made by our company in sports Monseñor Noel and La Vega," Soares said.

He said the competition is dedicated to Osiris Andres Tejada for his contributions to develop sports in the north region.
