Puntacana Ecological Foundation honey gets top prize

Santo Domingo.- For the second straight year ‘Puntacana Forest Honey’ produced by the Puntacana Ecological Foundation, wins first place in Dominican Republic’s 15th annual National Honey Competition.

The contest organized by the Dominican Beekeeping Cluster, the Red Apicola and the Dominican Beekeeping Commission, as part of the National Agricultural Fair 2015, which showcased over 40 samples from leading beekeepers across the country.

The honeys were subjected to a sensory analysis process to choose the winner, evaluating color, aroma, taste and other features.

The Puntacana Ecological Foundation Honey won first place in the category ‘Clear Honey.’
