US, Dominican presidents to meet in Panama for regional Summit

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina will meet with US president Barack Obama, together with six heads of state of the Central American Integration System (SICA) countries, during the 7th Summit of the Americas, slated for Friday in Panama.

Medina also plans to meet with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Saturday, with an agenda to be announced today, but includes the National Plan to Regularize Foreigners and the economic impact on rural communities from the Dominican leader’s surprise visits each week.

He also plans to cut the ribbon on the new Dominican Embassy facility in Panama City after his arrival on Thursday.

Medina, who’ll be in Panama till Sunday, also plans to head meetings with private investors interested in doing business in Dominican Republic.

Several officials including Foreign minister Andrés Navarro will accompany the President, and part of the official delegation is already in Panama.
